Providing Access to High-Quality Instructional Materials to Support Oregon Early Literacy Framework Implementation

With this site, you can find pathways to build your professional knowledge and trusted resources to supplement high-quality core instructional materials that support literacy instruction in every elementary classroom.

The Oregon Department of Education, in partnership with WestEd, developed professional learning materials and identified high-quality open education resources to support the concepts and strategies described in Oregon’s Early Literacy Framework. Oregon used Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) funding to build this robust professional learning platform to support the implementation of Oregon’s Early Literacy Framework.

The research-based reading models reflect how oral language, foundational skills, reading comprehension, vocabulary, background knowledge and writing are all necessary for skilled reading. Core instruction and assessment are key components to ensure all students learn and thrive.
