Visual Diagram: Teaching Elementary School Students to be Effective Writers

The following diagram provides an illustration of the four interrelated practices that are recommended for helping elementary school students become effective writers: daily time for students to write, teaching foundational skills, teaching the writing process and creating an engaged community of writers. It can be used to strengthen writing instruction.
