Reflecting on Our Practice: Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary and Background Knowledge

The following slide deck provides an introduction to an important aspect of Oregon’s Early Literacy Framework: reading comprehension, vocabulary and background knowledge. It can be used to build a shared understanding of key instructional practices for teaching K–5 literacy that incorporate reading comprehension, vocabulary and background knowledge.
