Adolescent Literacy Walkthrough Tool Part 1: Shadow a Student Noticing Tool

This document provides a tool for shadowing students throughout their school day to better understand when and how they engage in reading, writing, speaking and thinking across disciplines. It can be used to capture the student perspective on literacy opportunities, identify moments where disciplinary literacy practices are strengthened or missed and inform small shifts in instruction that can make a meaningful difference.
